Game Project 2 (4 Weeks, First Person, Group, Unity)

Game Project 2 where I worked as the level designer.

The first blockout of the city the player will be driving in. Took some inspiration from Crazy Taxi and New York (Manhattan). Nothing seen in this picture made its way to the final product. The actual size of the map grew 3-5 times larger.

Blockout version 2 of the city the player will be driving in. I added more roads and buildings with changes in size. In the end nothing seen in this picture made its way to the final product with the exception of the park in the right top corner.

In this project I also wore the hat of an audio designer on two occasions. This was the first one, to come up with a main menu song which I did using Ableton 11. This was the only song I made that's being used in the game. Here you can hear snippets.

The second song got cut because it was a bit too hectic, in this snippet you can hear different parts of the song. I used this song in one of my audio based games titled "The Last Wish"(Narrative Design) so that the song wouldn't be completely forgotten.

With the first iterations of assets available, I quickly demonstrated to my team how buildings would align with the road and where the trees would be placed so that they would be seen by the player and give more color to the world.

This was the first rough design of one of the edges of the map. It saw some changes but the outline, placements of buildings, trees and roads are almost identical to the ones in the final build.

The city was starting to come together as seen in the picture. The basic layout was done, it was just a matter of polish and placing out the assets in such a way that fit the style of our game. I was constantly playing the game to see what worked.
